We beg to differ. Here at Culture of Life Fashion we absolutely adore anything and everything that goes in to hosting a tea party. In fact, we just attended a beautifully hosted tea party- hosted by Those Other Girls Podcast- a few weeks ago and want to give you a short guide to “Tea Party Etiquette:”
1. Pick a FIT!! Culture of Life Fashion has plenty of classy, timeless pieces you can choose from. Some of our favorites to wear to tea are the flirty pink midi dress and the searsucker smocked maxi dress. This solid maxi skirt with pockets is a more comfortable choice, and the orange satin criss cross dress is a bit more formal.
2. Hold your teacup by the handle, not the base of the cup. This may take a bit of practice because we are used to grasping our cup in our society. Instead of grasping, make sure your finger and thumb meet through the handle and keep your fingers from curling through the handle itself.
3. Never swirl your tea! If you’re mixing the milk into your tea, use the tea spoon to gently mix it a few times in a clockwise position.
4. Don’t ever blow on your tea!! Let it cool down on its own. This is polite and much more classy.
5. Small sips and tiny bites: a lady knows not to rush. Slow down, engage in conversation, and enjoy the afternoon!

]]>The first rule is to be there! Sound simple? Plan the evening well so that you are not working in the kitchen but rather able to greet your guests at the door. Ideally, introduce them to other guests and help lead conversation. Give them a quick tour of your home, "Bathroom is here," "Grill is outside," and "Drinks are in the dining room." Perhaps do lawn games or activities to allow guests to mingle. We have family and friends join our annual patriotic bike parade for the holiday! This is our COL1972 family - all the kids decorate their bikes at our barbecue and then parade along our small country road. Can you spot Vittoria, Bella and Gigi in the photo below with their cousins?
The second rule is that the hostess should stand out by wearing a pop of color and statement pieces! This is your barbecue or dinner party after all! Memorial Day events give the hostess the opportunity to thrive in a pretty red dress accented with pearl earrings. Perhaps blue is your color! Get into the spirit of this patriotic holiday. Casual? Sure, many of us wore pajama bottoms while wearing crisp white shirts for zoom meetings during the pandemic, but those days have left us craving comfort over purpose when dressing. This pandemic style of dress has left many not just comfortable but giving the appearance of sloppy and messy. Culture of Life Clothing understands that comfort is king these days and we offer hundreds of comfy styles on our site. But being comfy need not to appear sloppy with an appearance of "we just don't care."
What we wear and how we present ourselves matters greatly. This lesson was taught to me by my mother at an early age. My mother still models dressing with purpose even on days that she is busy in the home and only socializing with my father.
My earliest memories of learning to dress on purpose was my mother laying out my Sunday School clothes. I adored the frilly dresses, tights and little black shoes that were laid on my bed each Sunday morning by my mother. Holidays like Easter and Christmas, were exciting for me to dress as often I matched my mom in attire. How I loved matching my mom on these special occasions. A tradition of "mommy & me" dressing that I continued when I had three daughters. Here is a photo of me, Vittoria, Bella & Gigi on a wintry stroll in NYC. Upon returning home from church, my mom would instruct me (and my brothers) to take off our Sunday clothes and put our play clothes. Our play clothes were jeans and sneakers. Monday - Friday brought new purpose to my dress as my mom instructed me to dress in school clothes. School attire was not as fancy as Sunday School but it was more purposeful than our play clothes. I loved my corduroy pants and matching sweaters that I wore in the 1970's to school.
Growing up in my home, my clothing literally told me what I was doing and even where I was going! Purpose in my dress was taught to me by my mom. I have taught this lesson to my daughters. It is wonderful to see my daughters dressing with purpose in their Culture of Life clothing for a day in class, brunch with their friends or Sunday services. As my daughters are maturing, they do not require my guidance with dress. But I do enjoy when one of my daughters will occasionally ask, "Mom, is this dress fancy enough for brunch?" or "Do you think these earrings look good with this dress?" My answer is always "Yes, a perfect choice!" This is the goal! That our daughters dress with purpose and perhaps our dress even tells you a little about who we are as women.

Many of us remember this incredibly moving Congressional speech from actor, special olympian, and advocate Frank Stephen a few years ago.
Many of us know someone who has Down Syndrome. Who live a beautiful, full life, and yet a shocking over 90% of these precious children are brutally killed each year.
"The abortion rate for fetuses diagnosed with Down syndrome tops ninety percent.” In Iceland, nearly every fetus with the condition is killed. CBS News reports that “the United States has an estimated termination rate for Down syndrome of 67 percent (1995-2011); in France it's 77 percent (2015); and Denmark, 98 percent (2015). The law in Iceland permits abortion after 16 weeks if the fetus has a deformity––and Down syndrome is included in this category.”

Although a lesser celebrated holiday, here at Culture of Life Fashion we are excited to celebrate President's Day- which falls on the third Monday in February each year- and the values it represents.
When we research the founding fathers desires for a free country, we see that they align with much of what our Life Tribe believes, and we know that defending these values will make our country a place of imagination, success, pioneering spirit and sanctuary for all life from the moment of conception to life's final breath.
Life: Our founding fathers knew that government had a duty to protect our natural right to life as granted to us by our Creator. This right is the foundation to all other liberties. Currently, this right is threatened, and broken more than two thousand times each day through the abortion, and here at Culture of Life we are aiming that the government protects the weak and innocent from the strong.
Liberty: The definition of liberty is, “Freedom from arbitrary and unreasonable restraint.” Liberty can be understood as the right to be free from arbitrary or oppressive government control, and to have the ability to make choices and take actions that are in line with your own values and beliefs, so long as they do not infringe on the rights of others. The Declaration of Independence states that governments are instituted to secure these rights, and that when governments fail to do so, the people have the right to alter or abolish them. Here at Culture of Life Fashion, we appreciate that this means we have the right to raise children and live out our lives in align with our beliefs without government interference.
The Pursuit of Happiness: The concept of the pursuit of happiness recognizes that everyone has their own unique vision of what constitutes a fulfilling and meaningful life. For some, this might mean pursuing a career or education, for others it might mean cultivating strong relationships or engaging in hobbies and creative pursuits. The pursuit of happiness gives individuals the freedom to seek out their own path to fulfillment, and to make choices that are consistent with their own personal values and aspirations. ]]>“Tinder Culture: Love and Sex.” Does that title ring a bell? Last year, we wrote a hit blog piece on the “Tinder Epidemic” our culture is experiencing. I discussed my experience in the airport seeing half a dozen girls messaging their “love interest” to pick them up through a dating app! Read the link included to remind yourself of our Valentine's Day 2022 Blog.
This is what so much of our culture desires… cheap sex, flying across the country to people who won’t even commit to a relationship, and using all these desperate attempts at “love” to try to fill the God-shaped hole inside of us. This year I want to to focus not so much on the “bad” of our culture- how our culture is messing with the family and relationships- but more so on: what does a good relationship look like, and what should we focus on looking for during this Valentine’s “Season of Love?”
1. A real man will lead you closer to, not farther from, God: Does he pray and read the Bible with you? Does he make an effort to discern with you the will of God or is he only focused on what he wants, and what is convenient for him?
2. Look at his relationship with his family: this will give insight into how he is going to treat you in the future: There’s a saying that a man will treat his wife in a similar way that he treats his mother, and that’s true to a point. How does he treat his mother and sisters, if he has any? Is he respectful, loving, and protective or dismissive and uncaring?
3. A man of God will never pressure you to do anything physically, but will instead help remind you that sex is a sacred act meant only for marriage: This is a big one! One of the devil’s most effective tools to break apart a relationship is the distorted use of sex. How does he handle when sexual temptation comes? Does he understand that God designed intimacy for two purposes- unitive and procreative- which brings the married couple the most pleasure?
4. You should never feel like you have to wear less clothing in order for him to think you are more beautiful: A real man will treasure and promote modesty, he will recognize that you are giving him a gift by saving yourself for only him.
These are only four standards, but some people might even say- “That’s too much to ask. There’s no man who is that good. My advice to you is: “Yes there is… you just might have to be patient and wait.”
I know there are men with these high standards because I’ve seen it in my life and the lives of my friends. Those of us who wait patiently, instead of lowering our standards, gain such a reward while the ones who want to find a man as quickly as possible end up lowering almost all of their standards and end up living a life far different than the one they hoped.

The National March for Life in Washington, D.C. is TOMORROW and we hope to see all of our life tribe there! One of the most powerful ways you can spread a culture of life is simply speaking and showing the truth, and you can show the truth by what you are wearing! Stock up on your lovey-dovey wear: Valentine’s Day is in less than a month!
Everyone can use a new beanie for the cold of winter. We even have a whole men’s collection for the guys in the movement! I’m writing this from the airport on my way to Washington D.C. wearing my Culture of Life 1972 denim jacket.
Do I think someone is going to ask me about the significance? For sure! Am I a little nervous to have that conversation on a plane, thousands of miles in the air? Of course! But this is our mission as a life tribe, as Christians: to spread love and spread the truth wherever we go- whether it’s in our hometowns or traveling across the country.
Look back on our new years resolutions blog for this year, and consider implementing one more of those in your own life so that we can change America back to a culture of life starting this sanctity of life month, and spreading that culture throughout the whole year.
]]>If living through a global pandemic has taught us anything, it should be that we must never take life for granted. Every single life matters - no matter how small! Let’s strive to live out that principle in some specific ways this year. So, here goes! Life Tribe, here are our 2023 New Year’s Resolutions:
1. Only support brands that protect life and further family values: We’ve seen companies come out so far as to pay for employees’ abortions, travel costs, and hotels, and as brands and companies are becoming more and more staunch about supporting a culture of death, we must have laser-vision about supporting a culture of life. Make that a goal this new year- to find a pro-life alternative to every home essential item you regularly purchase!
2. Share the message of Culture of Life Fashion with one person each month: Although we hope it’s more often than that, even if you share the message of spreading a culture of life through fashion with one person this month, that person can spread the message with others they know, and you will be creating a snowball effect! You never know the good that one positive word, one impactful statement about human rights can do.
3. Pray for a return to a Culture of Life in the USA daily: We must work for a culture of life, but the most important thing we can do is pray. Pray to God that our country leaders, officials, and lay people return to the Lord, because only then will we be able to have a truly peaceful country and world.
4. Live an authentic Biblical life for Christ, resisting the pop-culture and temptations the world is offering: Sometimes it’s easy to preach about living a certain way, but it’s 10 times harder to actually put that into practice. If practicing what you preach has been a struggle for you in the past, let this new year be the time you strive to live a genuine life. None of us are perfect, and we all fall, but if we truly strive to live an authentic, Biblical life, God will be with us to guide us along the way.
5. Share the message of Culture of Life Fashion virtually: Every day, our world becomes more and more digital. While there are pros and cons to this, it’s an undeniable reality that we must take and use in a healthy way. Consider sharing a post from Culture of Life Fashion on your Instagram story, or post a picture of you wearing the “1972” necklace and see what kinds of comments you get. “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.” This has never been more true. Stand for something - both in person and online! 2023: a year of hope, beauty, and love of life! Let’s come together around these resolutions and truly make this year the best we’ve ever seen - both in the Pro-Life Movement and the Christian community at large. Happy New Year!

Each year the holiday season approaches, and we have to make the decision: are we going to make a difference this year during the holiday season? Are we going to use this time of thanks & giving to remember all our blessings?
Often it can be challenging to be thankful, especially in these difficult and trying times that we live in. Here at Culture of Life 1972 we try our best to thankful for all things, large and small. Once we begin to count our blessings we discover that we have lots to be thankful for! Here is our list of blessings this year. ]]>Culture of Life Fashion assists crisis pregnancy centers with bottles, diapers, and clothing for hundreds of families. We strategically partner with churches and schools to get students to and from the March for Life in Washington D.C., and we support non-profits and protect and promote a culture of life.
One of our favorite organizations to support is Life Turning Point of Philadelphia. This homeless shelter for women and children was founded in 2019 and serves to provide a comprehensive, Bible-based, life-skills training program for homeless women and children.
The reason we love Life Turning Point so much is because not only do they give women a place to stay, they train them in a Christian lifestyle and send them out with life skills they wouldn’t learn elsewhere.
Not only do we support Life Turning Point, we love sending these women some of our styles to wear. They love supporting a culture of life, and wear them proudly. If you are interested in learning more about Life Turning Point of Philadelphia, read here.

]]>While we love sharing with you our frilly, pastel summer styles, we are even more obsessed with the Fall trends of 2022! Here are some of our favorite styles:
1. Anything and Everything Caramel-Toned: The animal print tie dress combines multiple caramels and browns to create a rich, warm toned dress. Our oatmeal, wide legged pants are a lighter version of this trend but still embody the warm caramel tone we love so much.
2. Corset Style: Corsets aren’t something of the 1800s anymore, but in 2022 they might not look like what you think of when you think “corset.” The Strapless Bow Top is what we might label a “corset” style top because of its snugness and shaping of the waist. We love this top paired many different ways- even with the oatmeal pants listed above
3. Maxi Skirts and Dresses: Midi skirts were in last year, and maxis are in this year! Our life tribe has always loved maxi skirts so we have many options! The highneck tank jumpsuit in a stunning royal blue is just one example of how we take the “maxi dress” style and bring out the many forms it can come in.
4. Bright Pink Head to Toe: My personal favorite trend of this fall!! The Pretty in Pink Button Dress turns eyes and is so versatile! ]]>Dressing beautifully vs. dressing sexually. If you've been keeping up to date with our social media, you know there has been some conversation on this- not all of it pleasant.
Here at Culture of Life, our main goal is to change the culture: we want to influence the culture by the way we dress and act so that it is a culture of beauty, a culture that embraces a love for life. So, how do we dress beautifully? What is the difference between dressing beautifully and dressing sexually? And how do we integrate that into our culture and influence our society without blasting out hateful messages across social media?
I think the main thing to remember when it comes to deciding what to wear is elegance:
“Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.” -Audrey Hepburn.
What is elegance? Elegance is, “the quality of being graceful and stylish in appearance or manner.”
Every woman knows when she slips into an outfit what that outfit makes her “feel” like. For example, slipping into Culture of Life’s Orange Satin Criss Cross Dress, one can’t help but feel like she could waltz into a ballroom or twirl down the stairs of a European hotel.
Wearing the Cheetah Satin Midi Skirt, one will feel ready to take on the moment: to own her beauty and be gracious to those around her.

This quote embodies what we believe at Culture of Life Fashion and emphasizes that the difference between dressing in styles such as this and dressing in a way that demands sexual attention can come down to how one styles an outfit, or even how one wears an outfit. Tight fitting short shorts with a crop top doesn’t show the beauty of a woman but shows every curve possible, leaving nothing to the imagination.
Going along those lines, however, modesty isn’t just about ‘covering up,’ it’s about revealing your dignity. That’s why it is so crucial to us here at Culture of Life Fashion to emphasize the importance of not just modesty, but more so dressing elegantly and beautifully.
Remember this as well: dressing elegantly isn’t just about what you wear, it’s about how you carry yourself. See our blog on etiquette for more about this! It doesn't show "Modesty" or good manners to blast out hateful comments about another's immodesty on social media. Instead, what if we dress in the way we see modest and let others learn from our example? It isn't Christlike to continuously point out the other's flaws in a public place, such as social media. Jesus tells us to first go to the person if we have a problem we would like to work on. If the person doesn't listen, we can then take another person, only if the person doesn't respond twice are we told to bring a "village"- or make it public.

ITINERARY
Friday morning we flew out of Rome and landed in Lisbon. We made Nazaré, known as a surfing and fishing town, our home base for the next two weeks. Our cousins are Portuguese and their hometown is Nazaré, so fortunately we were able to stay near them and they took us on day trips to all the best Portuguese sights. Here are our top recommendations for what you must do:
On our other day trips, we explored several other towns (Alcobaça, Tomar, Batalha) and all were absolutely beautiful. We also spent some time on the beach in Nazaré and exploring the town. Nazaré is home to some of the biggest waves in the world. The tallest wave ever to be surfed (86 feet) was surfed in Nazaré! Overall, it was a quiet, calm town where you can relax and experience local Portuguese life. One thing we did not get the opportunity to visit was the Palace of Sintra due to the threat of wildfires in the area. Guess we will just have to go back one day!
DOs and DON’Ts
DO pack lots of COL1972! Our COL1972 styles were so easy to pack and wear throughout the trip. During this trip, the weather fluctuated significantly, so we had to pack for both 90-degree days and 65-degree nights. Here are some of our favorite pieces we brought that are also great styles to transition your closet from summer to fall!
DO taste traditional Portuguese dishes and desserts. Some of the best seafood dishes we ever had were in Portugal. Octopus rice, monkfish rice, clams, and codfish were some of our favorites! If you don’t like seafood, don’t worry! There are plenty of pork and chicken dishes for you that we absolutely loved. In terms of pastries and desserts, you must have a bola (stuffed donut), pastel de nata (egg cream custard cup), and a fartura (basically a giant fluffy churro). We would go back to Portugal just for the food.
DO learn some Portuguese vocabulary. Just like Italy, most people speak at least some English, but it is inevitable that you will meet someone who doesn’t. Plus, the Portuguese really appreciated the effort we put in to speaking their language. Here are some terms we frequently used during our trip:
DON’T visiting durig the high-tourism season. From mid-July through August, Portugal is full of tourists. We visited during the first two weeks of July and it was so easy to travel then! No lines, no traffic, no waits at restaurants…it was amazing! Toward the end of the trip the increase in visitors to Portugal was noticeable and we were thankful to escape the crowds.
DON’T forget cash! One day we went to a local market and they only accepted cash. On the beach, they sold bolas and only accepted cash. Cash is a must-have!
DON’T forget to learn something new! Our family makes it a priority to learn something new every day. It truly adds value to the trip and to our lives when we take time to build our knowledge.
Overall, we are so thankful for our time spent in Portugal. This trip was a wonderful bonding experience for our family and we look forward to many more trips in the future.

]]>While we were away, many of you asked us to share our itinerary, recommendations, and tips & tricks for the Italian vacation of your dreams. Here at Culture of Life, we believe that you must make time for new life experiences. Spending quality time with family and creating memories together is essential for a fulfilling and joyful life. One way our family does this is by traveling. Our time in Italy provided the break our family needed to recharge, bond, learn new things, and make lifelong memories. That being said, we are thrilled to share the highlights of our trip with you in hopes that you and your families can have the same relaxing, exciting experience we did in our travels!
ITINERARY:
We arrived on a Thursday morning in Rome and drove to stay in with our relatives in Offida, Ascoli Piceno in Marche, Italy. This was probably our favorite part of the whole trip, and not just because our family and family history live there. If you’re looking for a quaint small town to experience local Italian life, we absolutely recommend Offida! It’s big enough to keep you occupied for a few days but small enough that you will still see Nonnas (Italian grandmothers) sweeping their front stoops with their nipoti (grandchildren) nearby playing. There are several old churches and museums to visit, plus it’s only 25 minutes from the Adriatic Sea! Finally, you must purchase some handmade lace, which is what Offida is known for around the world.
On Saturday morning, we left Offida to spend a week in the Amalfi Coast. We rented an AirBnb in Praiano, which is a smaller, lest tourist town along the coast. Unless you have significant amounts of experience driving along the Amalfi Coast, we DO NOT recommend driving there. There is only one road in and out of the Amalfi Coast, and it is tiny, filled with busses, mopeds, and people…and Italian drivers are maniacs. While we were there, we spent a day visiting Pompeii, which was only about an hour away. We also spent a day in Capri and a day in Positano. Both have excellent shopping, wonderful views, and delicious restaurants. To get to Capri from Praiano, we took a taxi boat to Positano and then jumped on a ferry straight to Capri from there. We spent one day at the beach in Praiano, which was so relaxing! Be aware: Italian beaches on the Amalfi do not have sand. They are usually pebbles or large rocks, so you’ll want to reserve beach chairs the day before you plan to go. Another morning we hiked the Path of the Gods, which we absolutely recommend! The views are unbelievable!
After the week in Amalfi, we drove to Rome and spent five days there. On Sunday, we did our own walking tour and we stopped by the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and the Piazza Navona. There are several amazing restaurants in the Piazza Navona, so you should make time to grab dinner there. On Monday and Tuesday, we had guided tours scheduled. Definitely book a tour guide for at least two days…there is so much to see and so much to learn in Rome. It can be confusing to understand what or impossible to know what you’re seeing without an expert. Plus, you can avoid lines, get access to private areas, and even private drivers with tour guides. We spent Monday at the Vatican and at the Roman Catacombs. On Tuesday, we toured the Roman Forum and the Coliseum. Wednesday and Thursday we took time to do some souvenir shopping, eat our last few long, authentic Italian meals, and pack up because on Friday morning, we flew to Portugal (you’ll have to check back in a few weeks for the Portuguese itinerary)!
DOs and DON’Ts
DO pack lots of COL1972! Remember, Italy is home to one of the fashion capitals of the world (Milan), so you’ll want to pack plenty of trendy summer outfits! Here’s a few COL pieces we packed that were essential:
DO eat gelato every day…it is so much more flavorful and creamy than American ice cream.
DO learn some essential Italian phrases. Italians love when you try to speak their language, even if it’s basic. Most people speak at least a little English, but you will inevitably meet someone who doesn’t! Fortunately, our dad is fluent so he took care of most of the translation, but he was not able to stay the whole time so we had to fend for ourselves. Here’s a few phrases to get you started:
DON’T cut your pasta. For the love of everything that is good in this world, please just don’t.
DON’T leave your belongings alone, especially in the big cities. The last thing you want on your trip is for your passport and credit cards to be lost or stolen! We carried our 1972 Pink Fanny Pack with us everywhere to keep our important documents, cash, and credit cards conveniently on us at all times!
DON’T forget to bring cash! There are still places that do not accept credit cards, so be sure you have euros with you at all time!
Finally, DON’T forget to have fun! Making memories, trying new things, learning, and spending time with the ones you love no matter where you are adds so much value to life!
